Happy New Year!

Wow! I can't believe tomorrow is 2009! I am so excited for the year ahead...

I wanted to drop a quick post to let you know about print pricing increases (I have already changed the pricing in portrait sessions.) And give you a heads up that all print pricing on web galleries will increase on January 15th. I've made some great changes like custom mounting on prints 11x14 and larger that really make such a more beautiful and durable product. The mounted prints have gotten rave reviews from winter portrait clients.

ALSO...new blog coming right around the corner...It's going to launch January 9th...and the 9th blog commenter will get a Starbucks gift card for $9 (okay $10, but $9 sounded better!)

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone!

{a city session}

I instantly connected with Suzie after we met our daughter's soccer practices...not only did we connect, but our girls hit it off great and our sons played soccer together, too! To top it off, we both have Korean moms so we have all sorts of stories to share about growing up with "oma." We somehow managed to survive both soccer team seasons and I was thrilled when Suzie & Dave asked me to take their photos in downtown Tacoma. I had such a great time...thanks for allowing me to capture your family!

And my favorite shot of the day...(another reason why I think quarter Korean kids are the cutest, but I'm not biased or anything...)

{the amazing Kristin Connell}

On a frosty Tuesday morning I met Kristin at a local Starbucks...she had found me on Facebook after looking for a classmate from our same high school. (Gotta love Facebook!) We chatted for over an hour and the time flew by as we talked about our passions...her love of music, and my love affair with photography. I love working with artists! After leaving, I felt like I had met with an old girlfriend.

Kristin's new album, Dance of Love, will be coming out in January and maybe one of the following photos will be on the cover...I can't wait to hear it, Kristin! And we definately gotta get our cosmo date at the Melting Pot on the calendar ASAP!

Check our her site, and go buy her album...she is amazing!

A big thank you to the funky Embellish Salon for allowing me to shoot outside their building. And also to Willow for lending me her fabulous green chair and showing me some of these great urban spots...thank you so much!

{a new chapter}

I was so excited when Kelly contacted me to shoot their family photos. We worked together (she was my manager) a few years ago at the Gap and their session was very special for me to capture. They have been on a long road of battling childhood neuroblastoma (cancer) with their sweet son Logan and I had been keeping track of their journey through Logan's blog. So the good news is that Logan is cancer free! And I was immensely honored to photograph their first family photos with his tubes removed. Thank you so much, Jason & Kelly! I am so thrilled for this new chapter in your lives and so glad to be in touch again.

A happy, healthy, and STRONG 1st grader, Logan! You would never know by looking at him all that he has endured and overcome. His blog labels him a hero...I know that he is one of mine! This face will melt your heart.
