Olivia is officially a second grader (sniff) and only on rare occasion lets me walk her to class. She has several really sweet girls in her class from last year and is already telling me about her new friends. Reese, our baby, is now in kindergarten...and it is so incredibly bittersweet for me! He is loving every minute of it. And when asked his favorite part of kindergarten he will either answer "Recess!" or today it was "Making new friends." So below is a photo of both the kids on their first days that perfectly fits how they feel about having a mom that's a photographer...
The first week of September ended with a bang for me...I ran my first 5k ever! It was the Bank to Bay in Tacoma and it was a lot of fun (especially when I crossed the finish line.) I started running in June in an effort to have more energy and just be overall more healthy. This is nothing short of a miracle, because last April I was making fun of a running store Mark and I saw in Georgetown. I mean, really? A whole store just for running? Don't you just put shoes on and go? But now I have come into the light and am beginning to understand...But not without the help of my amazing friend and coach, Krista, who ran with me several times in August to prepare for it. Diane, Krista's best friend, and a friend of mine from the good 'ol high school basketball glory days, showed up for the race and it was so good to catch up after wards. Thanks Krista & Diane for getting me there and getting me going! I'm totally addicted!!! (Okay, maybe not TOTALLY, but I'm definately doing it again.)
And the final set of photos from our whirlwind weeks was our fun trip to the fair! Yee haw! We had a blast watching the kids and eating all the yummy fair food (why do you think I run!!!) Earthquake burgers & fair scones never disappoint! I had fun this year taking pictures of the kids as well. One of my goals for this next season is to take more photos just for me...especially of my family. Here's a few of my faves...

I promise I will blog more. Cross my heart.

I love the pics of the Mini-Wohrles!! They are so stinking cute.
I'm so proud of you and your race - I can't believe you didn't mention that Diane and I could *barely* keep up with you that last mile haha
Wow. A 5K I'm so impressed. Go Jenny.
